A family recipe with a humble beginning.
Cooks Cabin originated in 1975 while the Du Plessis family was on holiday in Sodwana to enjoy with their fresh prawns and fish straight from the sea.
Throwing together what he knew would work well, Chris created a sauce that stayed in the family for years to come. However, with continued requests from family and friends, Chris decided to manufacture the sauce and, after months of trial and error, the recipe was perfected, and Cooks Cabin was born.
Now we want to bring the taste and enjoyment of Cooks Cabin to every household, which is why we are proud to announce that we’ve officially mass launched our sauces range to give your meals that extra kick and flavour!
We’ve bottled the secret recipe in mild, hot and extra hot flavours to cater for every palate, so whether you’re able to handle the heat or prefer a more subtle hint, you can still enjoy Cooks Cabin flavour as a marinade, sauce, rub, dressing, basting or condiment to your meals and snacks. Marinade your meat, fry it with prawns, baste your roast or enjoy it poured over biltong; anything savoury works with Cooks Cabin.
What’s more, our sauces have been made using natural ingredients with no colourants, artificial preservatives, flavours or MSG, so you can indulge with peace of mind!
All flavours are available in 350ml, 750ml, 2L and 5L bottles.
